After hitting 66 points last week without using any chips, thanks largely to Chelsea’s big scoring week and a triple Arsenal clean sheet, I’m planning to use my Bench Boost this week with triple Coventry at home to Hull.
Firstly, no! A one-week sample isn’t going to change my mind about targeting this fixture for a Bench Boost, and it shouldn’t put you off either.
Although Hull beat Man Utd 2–0, they only managed 1.31 xG, which is actually more than they’re expected to produce this week against Coventry (1.01 xG). With the 3rd highest clean sheet probability this week at 35%, Coventry’s fixture still looks very Bench Boostable.
The only teams with better clean sheet odds are Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool. For context, there’s realistically no way you could Bench Boost three defenders from those sides for a combined spend of just £12.5m.
It’s 1 transfer for me this week, with the plan being to Free Hit in GW3. With Ndiaye transfer rumours floating around, i'm forced to make a transfer in order to bench boost. Harvey Barnes is the one joining my team as he projects the highest expected points for any £6.0m or under player for the 3 weeks I need him, being GW2, GW5, and GW6. Other options included Tavernier, Schade, or Sangaré.
Bruno Fernandes captain is also pretty straightforward for me. I’
m not being deterred by one game, and he has the highest expected points of any player this Gameweek, even ahead of Haaland if you own him.
Good luck, everyone! 🍀⚽
